Parents Night Out
Introduction

Christian Education is a vital part of community life at Coral Gables Congregational Church (CGCC). It provides opportunities that enrich the body and soul, and foster spiritual growth for both CGCC members and the wider community. Christian Education offers a wide range of activities throughout the week: from Sunday School and Adult Bible Studies to yoga, spiritual autobiography classes, art camps, movie nights, pancake breakfasts and much more!

We invite you to explore the many activities, for all ages, provided by Christian Education. Childcare, for infants through 3 years is provided for many activities (including Sunday Worship and Adult Education). All childcare staff have received CPR/First Aid certification and background clearance. As you visit each of the programs throughout this website; childcare is indicated where offered.

Also, learn about CGCC choir activities held during the week as a part of CGCC Music Ministry: Cherub Choir for K-2nd graders, Agapé Choir for 3rd-5th graders, Cantaté for 6th-12th graders, Handbell Choir for teens to adults. More music opportunities (e.g., the Young Musicians’ Orchestra and music lessons and classes for ages 8-18, and concerts for children and adults) are provided through the CGCC Community Arts Program.

CGCC's Theologian in Residence Program
Bishop John Shelby Spong ~ January 2010

In January, we unveiled our first Theologian in Residence Program with the outstanding and ever-challenging Bishop John Shelby Spong, who lived in the midst of the CGCC community for the entire month of January. During that time, Bishop Spong presented a series of eight lectures and was our guest preacher in worship services.

This program builds on past weekend lecture series which have brought John Dominic Crossan, Marcus Borg, and others to challenge and inspire the CGCC community.

Watch the website for details about our 2011 Theologian in Residence program.
